LOCAL EVENT: This is My Story

On Saturday, May 25, 2024 at 1 PM, Sisters of Faith, a Women Ministry from the First Baptist Church of Passtown located at 117 Barber Ave, Coatesville, PA held an event named This is My Story. This event presented nine local authors who shared their stories about their books. They are Fida Abbott, Polly Foster, Sharlene Fullwood, Abigail Gordon, Anita Harris, Sylvia Harris, Katina Robertson, Denise Smith, and Paige Thomas.

This is My Story

Good morning!

Author Fida Abbott was invited by Sisters of Faith, a women ministry from the First Baptist Church of Passtown in Coatesville, PA to tell story about her book, Enthusiasm. The church is located at 117 Barber Avenue, Coatesville, PA.



This event is open for women in the community, so if you are interested and have a free time in the afternoon this Saturday, May 25, 2024, please come and join them.



Fida is also available for public speaking in any size of attendants, online or in person. She has interest to share her experiences and knowledge about how to be a good citizen as a legal immigrant, as a mental health caregiver for youth, and anything about writing, including writing therapy.

Book Events in 2022 and 2023

On Saturday, November 4, 2023, Abbottsbooks participated in 2023 Craft and Vendor Show, held by Pope John Paul II Regional Catholic Elementary School in Coatesville, PA. In this event, Abbottsbooks supported a youth author, Ariel Abbott by inviting her to join the show. Her comic book, Phoebe's Mental Health Journey (PMHJ), a comic book supporting mental health awareness for youth, won an international book award, the 2021 Bronze Medal for Moonbeam Children's Book Awards in the category of Best Book by Youth Author (under18).







On Wednesday, November 16, 2022, Abbottsbooks participated in a silent auction, First Annual Thistle Hills Dinner, located at Episcopal Church of the Trinity in Coatesville, PA. Carolyn Tate who won the Abbottsbooks packet, brought home Enthusiasm, Exploring My Ideas, and Pretty, Paid, Powerful: 40 Days in Powering the Women Within.

2019 Pacific Northwest Booksellers Association (PNBA) Tradeshow will be held on Sunday, Monday, Tuesday, October 6,7, 8 at the Red Lion on the River, Portland, OR. This event is open only to book industry professionals and are not open to the general public.

Meeting with A Clay Pottery and Textiles Artist from West Chester, PA

Author Fida Abbott with Artist Nancy Rasch Salamon

What was an interesting news from the author Fida Abbott who had book signing this morning, Saturday, October 13, 2018 at West Chester Public Library from 10 AM to 12 PM? For the first time a clay pottery and textiles artist from West Chester, PA, Nancy Rasch Salamon met Fida in her book signing event. They had a good conversation about their each work. Nancy was interested to have a copy of Fida's books, Exploring My Ideas and Fida would love to visit her studio someday that is located on 349 West Barnard St, West Chester, PA 19382.

Book Launch Party for "Exploring My Ideas"

Thank you all who have given responses "YES" or "NO" to attend and not to attend Fida Abbott's Book Launch Party. All guests are special and Fida appreciates your effort and time. Besides family, friends, co-workers, former co-workers, and neighbors, there will be Dean Emeritus of Cheyney University of Pennsylvania who wrote Foreword of Fida's new published book, Former General Manager of YKBK (Indonesian publisher who published Fida's book Enthusiasm in Indonesia) who came from Ohio, Director of Coatesville Area Public Library, Music Director of CASD for Middle School, Rector and Deacon of the Episcopal Church of the Trinity, former Ass. BOOK LAUNCH PARTY: Promoting Batik from Indonesia


What will you expect when you attend a book launch party? Book, right? That's right, but in Book Launch Party that will be held by author Fida Abbott on August 4, 2018 will be interesting because it will be very different. She will host a silent auction besides give the opportunity to her guests to purchase her books with 20% discount and have them autographed. This silent auction will benefit the Episcopal Church of the Trinity that is having renovation and will celebrate 150th Anniversary. The silent auction will offer a basket filled with Fida's books, Indonesian products including batik, and other things that are relevant to the stories she wrote in her books.

PODCAST WCHE 1520 AM RADIO: Fida Abbott's New Published Book


On Friday, June 8, 2018 at 4.30 PM, WCHE 1520 AM Radio Station had a talk show with a local author, Fida Abbott.

Kyle Hudson (producer/host) who leads the World's Finest show program, Karie (co-host), and Rae (co-host) interviewed Fida about her upcoming published book, her journey to become a local author till she got an interview in their radio station and how the readers responses had influenced her writing journey.

As the book will be published soon, Fida explained that she was going to have a book launch party, held on August 4, 2018. In that event, besides the guests will be entertained by live music, there will be door prize, book signing opportunity, and a silent auction. The silent auction will present a basket filled with Fida's books, Indonesian products, and other things that relevant to the stories she wrote in her books. All profit from this silent auction will benefit the Episcopal Church of the Trinity in Coatesville, PA that is having many renovations and is going to celebrate 150 years of Anniversary in the next couple months.

LIBERTY TAX ACTIVITY TIME: Special Opportunity for the Children to Learn

During tax season, Liberty Tax Office in Coatesville, PA (209 E Lincoln HwyCoatesville, PA) will hold a special activity time for children. Meals will be provided by Lisa and Traci Morris of Filet of Soul. These events will be held after school and you must sign up your children to attend at 484-784-5261.

During the week, we will be teaching the kids how to create commercials, web design, game making, and mentoring. Guest speakers will be invited:
1. Fida Abbott is an author and her activity will help children create their own children's book about Coatesville. 
2. Lisa and Traci Morris will be holding cooking classes at their location. 
3. Kyle Hudson of WCHE will teach Radio Broadcasting and host kids on our local radio show.

PODCAST: Public Speaking by Author Fida Abbott, Rotary Club of Coatesville, PA

Today, May 19, 2016, author Fida Abbott gave public speaking about her book entitled Enthusiasm to the top twenty five students of the 2016 graduating class at Coatesville Area Senior High School (Honor Scholars) in the Rotary Club of Coatesville lunch meeting at Coatesville Country Club (Rotary District 7450).

In her interactive speech, she invited one of the students, named Andrew, to share how enthusiasm played the vital role in pursuing his dream.

In the end of her speech, she shared to the students to do what they love and love what they do. By doing those, will create enthusiasm in reaching their dreams. Having faith is very important, but faith without action is nothing/impossible to reach their dreams. "So have a dream and faith, start an action, be enthusiastic and persistent, and you will reach your dream!" that was her message in the end of her speech.

Give Unforgettable Gifts!

Recently Enthusiasm had participated in the special event: Silent Auction and Raffle to benefit Coatesville Area Public Library, Downingtown Library, YMCA Youth Scholarship, High School Scholarship, and Samara House Shelter. Last week Fida Abbott, author of Enthusiasm received Thank You letter from Delta Kappa Gamma (International Society for Key Women Educators) that held that event. The following paragraphs will show you what they have written:

Dear Friends,

It has been a few weeks since our Silent Auction and Raffle on October 4th and we want to say thank you. Your support of Delta Kappa Gamma continues to amaze our membership and reminds us that we are all part of a phenomenal community. Your generous monetary donations, program ads, and unique and desirable gifts made our event fun and, above all, successful. We were able to raise over $11,000.

With the money raised from our event, Delta Kappa Gamma is now able to fulfill our promises of support to the Brandywine Y Youth Scholarship program, our Coatesville and Downingtown public libraries and the children and mothers at Samara House as well as to provide three scholarships to graduating seniors who plan to enter the field of education.
